My Nepal For Change- Salina Shrestha

I am a student of business studies of management faculty. It's my passion to eat like a businessman, walk like a businessman, speak like a businessman, in aggregate I want to be renowned as a top businessman, we've to enter in management faculty and choose business studies in +2, then BBA/BBS/BBM in Bachelor, then MBA/MBS/MBM, M.Phil and finally Phd. So, I enter into management faculty. The story begins here. I'm distinction holder in SLC. Some most of people I know were advising me to join science faculty, only there were some, that number can be counted on my fingers that encourage me to join the field I'm interested in. It was the time I was depressed that, why? Why only science? How can I change this evil of science wondering inside people's mind? There's a trend that has reserved science for Distinction, Management for 1st Division and Humanities for 2nd and other divisions. No one has tried and is trying to see the existence of other subjects. The only superior for them is science. I think it's the main reason that a country to be undeveloped because people are losing their talents, time and money. So, neither the science has given birth nor the birth can be given by people's talents. Only the birth of unemployment is growing rapidly not the birth of development. It's a truth that any interested one can study management, chartered Accountants and successful business entrepreneurs too, whose life style and pay scale are far better than those of doctors and engineers. But it's very very sad to say that in Nepal, only in the exceptional case, it's possible. Nothing but the unpractical education system of Nepal makes an entry as a villain in it. So, we can find the herd of unemployed even after completing Master Degree in management. But the students of science are also victim of our bad education system. That's why we can see government hiring foreign engineers for big development projects, doctors for serious surgeries. Isn't it the sign of shameless for our government. Flashing back towards management faculty, the BBA and BBS course has turned into 4 years with same quantity of course. Why this expansion of year? It's obviously because of the poorness of government to provide enough employment for its public even to the deserving one except this, truly speaking; TU has failed to change the syllabus according to the need of time and technology. It's suffering from memory loss whose cure is in its own hand. But being students of this country. We should raise our voice against them. Sameway, the existing syllabus doesn't increase ability because it's planned in such a way that it gives little information of everything but specialization of nothing. It makes us "Jack of All, Master of None" And little information is dangerous. Also, it's not practical because we have to gain some training specially for knowing jobs to be done in a particular office even whose functions are related to the same field we had studied. It means we are not made capable to work whatever we read. Then where that qualification goes where we spend most of our time, hardship and parent's investment. Qualification has just been as a decorating and showing item while running for a job. It doesn't stop here, in class 12, there's choice between marketing and Business Math's where there's wrong trend of that marketing is for untalented students and Business Math's for talented students. But it must be choose according to interest. Then the Bachelor consists of statistics in 1st year, marketing in 2nd year as compulsory and in 3rd year in choice. Now, it must have shaken your mind. And it's obvious too because what to do at that time as we won't have choice. With this, similarly, most of the students even don't know about right path of their future destination. It's due to lack of awareness of subjects. They don't know which study will make them what in future? This should be aware from school level, bridge course classes and college orientation too. But here's just the competition to attract more and more students for more profit. Even I also don't know what subjects and scopes are here after +2 in management in Nepal. The solution is no far. Marketing and Business Math's must be made as compulsory subjects. Similarly, Business Math's must contain only the daily useful and business related problems. There must be specialization of interested subjects separately after SLC just like marketing, business, finance, banking, accounting etc. Vocational training, field visit shouldn't be deprived from students. For instance, Japan is a developed country where people earn vocational training after school level instead of higher education and be self-employed and provide employment to others too. Some practical education as Staff Nursing, Health Assistant, Dental Overseer etc have arises in Nepal too but still to be developed in each and every field as in Management field. Just imaging Nepal with education from nursery to higher level, only with needed topics in every needed subject. I agree even our education also makes mind broad but moreover it pressurizes in our mind and actually stood as a big stone in a path of fulfilling its own aim i.e. to gain more marks than knowledge's and ability. The proof is that we can't get our written exam papers back from so called "Iron Gate-SLC" to each and every board exams of higher education level. Did you realize ? our education system is not giving us such needed right too to fulfill aim of their own started teaching i.e. theatrical teaching. It won't help in improving marks through correction of mistakes as we can't get our board exam's papers back. My complain doesn't stop here, frankly saying, there's trend that teachers punish students for cheating in exams until pre-board of class 10. But the trend changes for SLC. They pressurize students to pass it in higher percentage for their school's reputation at any cost either by creating as well. At that time, they became sooo..... selfish and don't care about student's future which will be failure in +2 and further. The only Appeal from my side through this ARTICLE is that it's time to awake concerned authority that seem to be turning deaf ears and placing our education in crisis from decades. "It's time to change and not now means never forever." I leave with this motto - "Learn practical and Be practical." So, "Fight for right to PRACTICAL EDUCATION." Let's do it, it'll change not only the life of an individual but the whole scenario of our country will alter and the face of our country will see the zenith of development remember that the thing that seems beautiful in imagination will how much magnificent in real. So, hurry up, "Wake up & Awake All." -k|ltlqmofsf] nflu lwsandesh@gmail.com_
